Oh Joyus day! HEyHEY quit his job...
The last straw came at 2:00 when the boss would not listen to me when I said the client ASKED for her information to be faxed.. "We always email!" he YELLED. "This isn't up for discussion.!"

I asked the client how I could get the information over to her...she said to fax it...end of story, he chose to yell instead of listening to my explaination...so I went back into my office, got builtup in to an uncontrollable rage. Went to the washroom to cool off...looked in the mirror and said.."This is it, I don't need this life"

Went back to the office, he was in a meeting with another employee. I was so mad I knew if I spoke to him with my new found freedom of him not being the boss anymore (Plus he may have convinced me to stay)..it could get ugly. SO I left my keys and a note...and left. FUCK HIM!!! Then walked out into the street...had a smoke, a shot of whiskey and a gunisess and headed home. I am very ...relieved right now. I tried to quit last week but he ignored me...now, I decided to do it.

I feel great, and I can;t wait to hit the pavement on Tuesday looking for a new job.

1. Ditching a crap job can be very liberating!
I almost danced out of my last job. Everyone there is still miserable.

Good luck on your new job hunt! :)

4. A great time to think about what to do next might be
while flicking flies to gullible fish. Yeah, I know it's probably a bit chilly in the water right now, but some good insulated waders will take care of that. Great stting for making plans for the future. Best of luck!:hi:

25. Woo hoo HEyHEy!!
Congrats on walking out on the bastaaaahd, and super congrats on possibly new job already!

Life is so much better when one enjoys one's work. it's amazing how a shitty job will cloud and obscure the parts of one's life outside that work.

7. You know you did the right thing
when you go back and see the drawn looks of misery on the faces of those who stayed behind, because they have to work and live paycheck to paycheck, or whatever the reason.

And you don't get migraines anymore from stress. And you don't have that feeling of dread when the alarm goes off.

Sometimes you have to go where you will be happiest. What's with these idiots that can't figure out that employees deserve to be treated with respect?

18. quit my job today, too
well, actually gave a weeks notice.

tried to be a good sport about the hot, filthy sweat box that was 'sposed to be a temp office. but after 7 weeks, it wasn't funny anymore. lots of other dumb stuff going on there, but working conditions was my main issue.

19. Well, I quit too, but ...
It was one of those quit or be fired type of things. Take my word for it - you did the right thing. If you stay in a job where you are miserable, it will eventually show and they will push you out like they did to me.

Is it a fer sure thing?

Will you need to move?

He shoots, he scores!! When you get to the new job, email your old boss from there to let him know you're already working for someone else. HA HA!

24. Good going, HEyHEY! Like leaving a burning building...
You get a new lease on life. Good for you for electing to maintain your sanity while those around you take leave of theirs. You're absolutely right, you *don't* need that kind of life.

Best of luck on the new job search, and congrats for being kind to yourself!

Congratulations. And good luck on the search.

My husband recently did the same thing, he just couldn't take it anymore, the petty back-biting and bureaucratic inefficiency. Jobs in our field (archaeology) are few and far between these days, though, so he traded in his MS for a teaching certificate and is happier than he's ever been. Every day he feels as though he's made a difference in some kid's life. It more than makes up for the sucky pay and mediocre benefits.
