Answer quick! It's an early show. Here's a link for anybody who doesn't know whom I'm talking about but is curious: http://www.slideshowplayers.com/
Supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread.

1. Jesus Christ, it's the Osmonds 2.0!
Eh, go see them. I think I saw them on Conan once. They're cool. :-)

3. Go. The father is a friend of mine.
Tell him Rene said hi, and sorry if I was rude the other night by not introducing him to the people I was talking to, but I couldn't remember their names.

;-)

He's actually a close friend of a good friend of mine and my husband's and I just met him for the first time a few weeks ago. But he's very nice.

5. That would be rather surreal
to do a show in W Columbia, SC, and have some strange middle-aged hippie deliver a message from a friend in NYC. Sorta like when I emailed the Swimming Pool Qs to ask if Anne Richmond-Boston is really her name or if it's just a megalopolis reference, and Jeff answered. (He says it's really her name. They played the same tavern the Trachtenburgs are at a couple weeks ago, and kicked posterior extensively. But I'm digressing again, aren't I?)

We're all broke as hell, but I'll try to persuade the gang to go. They did a signing/appearance at a record store yesterday, which would have been a much better time for delivering messages, but I forgot all about it unfortunately.

8. Doors opened at 6, but there were 2 opening acts
We called twice. One guy said the Trachtenburgs would start at 7; the second said we'd be ok if we got there by 8:30. In the end, we figured we'd regret it, but we really couldn't afford the show. (The $10 was for advance tickets; presumably it would have been $12 at the door.) We went to see School of Rock instead. Forgive us, gods of hipness.

4. Yes
They used to be based in Seattle, and before they left I had a chance to go see them, which I did not. Then afterwards I heard all the rave reviews about how they are the greatest thing since (___________) - one of the local weeklies even wrote an article about how Seattle was losing a treasure. I kicked myself for that.

7. That good, eh?
Missed 'em-- they were just here.

But, they're on their way back to the area, maybe I can check 'em out in a week or so.
