The music reminds me of being little again.

2. I refused to see it because it looked stupid to me-----I even refused to
get the video when it was released. It just wasn't my type of movie.

About 2 years ago I was at the public library and I took it home because there wasn't much of a selection.

It is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

3. I can watch that movie over and over
my favorite lines:

"Im sorry I had a fight in the middle of your black panther party."

L. Dan: have you found Jesus yet?

Gump: I didnt know I was suppose to be looking for him.

4. Great movie. Great reminder of all the possibilities in life
that often go unrealized or unfulfilled because we believe we can't do something or shouldn't do something.

6. My favorite lines from Forrest Gump.
QUOTE

Forrest Gump : Will you marry me?

(Jenny turns and looks at him)

Forrest Gump : I'd make a good husband, Jenny.

Jenny Curran : You would, Forrest.

Forrest Gump : But you won't marry me.

Jenny Curran : You don't wanna marry me.

Forrest Gump : Why don't you love me, Jenny? I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is.

UNQUOTE

Lots of smart men and women will never know what love is. How tragic!

7. Questioning the Joy of this movie:
Edited on Sat Feb-26-05 10:02 PM by StClone
When unthinking became a fashionable vacuum where good things will happen...they don't and usually the bad does. I think this movie was part the force and part reaction to the dumbing down of America. Being dumb to reality, though good by nature, may make for a sweet movie but a lot of people took this to heart (Red Staters) as a reaction to Intellectualism, the secular and increasing complexity of modernity.

Watching and enjoying but with a leery eye.

10. The book was better.
And the sequal book was a riot.
Forrest can really be compared to Bush in that one,
'cause everything he touches turns to shyte. :)

11. Forrest Gump is relentless right-wing propaganda.
Respect authority. Fear knowledge. Love your country. Obey, obey, obey. It is shit.

13. Aw,come on----I saw nothing of that in the movie and even if I had
I still like it.

Get away from politics once in a while, relax, and enjoy.

If Forrest Gump was patriotic,so what, lots of people are.The diversity of opinion is what makes this country great.

14. Forrest Didn't Fear Knowledge And Ultimately Grasped A Paradox
is there Destiny or are we floating like a feather?

Forrest said he thought it was both. For someone not too intelligent- that's actually a pretty complex philosophical point.

As for loving his country... seems like he was called up and went... like lots of kids back then. During the firefight, it seemed like he loved his fellow troops than his country.

Running across country... others followed HIM.

I had no idea people would take the movie in such a context.
