7. You know, if you haven't heard it before...
Edited on Sat Feb-26-05 12:28 PM by Spider Jerusalem
you ought to check out our local jazz show here in Atlanta..."Jazz Classics", on our local NPR station, WABE. The host, H. Johnson, is probably the BEST I've heard on radio. Man knows his music, and he's got a million stories to go with what he's playing. Plus, the theme song is an absolutely kickass version of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" (performed by Father Tom Vaughn)...worth tuning in just to hear that. Airs tonight @ 9 Eastern...live stream here: http://publicbroadcast.net/wabe/ppr/index.shtml

Excellent choice, and I like this version (haven't heard this one before). I shall have to listen to your station more often, I think (already added it to my favourites in Windows Media Player...heh).

Edit: That was "The Mooche"? Hm.

20. Monk
The quirkier the better :hippie: I especially like the Monk and Trane collection. There's also a lovely song, "Coming On the Hudson," that I know only from that double LP when they let NRBQ's Terry Adams into the vaults-- "That's the Way I Feel Now."

I also love Carla Bley's stuff from the '60s and '70s, especially the record called Tropic Appetites.

I thought demomom sounded lame. Dunno why I thought I needed to have the "mom" part in there. Maybe because I saw there was already someone with "jazz" in her name!

You have any there? Something off the "Stone Flower" or "Wave" album.

Jobim's the best. I'm hoping I can listen today if I'm not too tied up with work.

What was the link again?
