How Does One Connect The Cabling To A Computer?
I talked to a friend tonight and somehow I got the impression a 77 year-old father, three cats and a vocal but well-meaning sister dosen't help matters.

1. they are largely color coded these days
and if a cable doesn't fit, it doesn't belong there, try a different one until you run out of loose cable.

seriously.

2. What sort of cabling?
Do you mean network? If so, what type of network connection?

Or do you mean all of the cables for a computer you just moved or bought, etc?

3. I Bought A New One For A Friend
Edited on Thu Oct-09-03 11:12 PM by Don_G
Everything was checked out and tested before we left the store, but she's getting so much assistance from her 3 cats, 77 year-old father and sister she's getting flustered.

AC cord, USB 2.0 cord to printer and her cable ISP connetion which she went through on her old system plus the idiot-proof connections from port-to-monitor.

Will someone besides me please tell her that's she has had more experience than "they" have and to stop listening to hormonally-influnced advice (not her Dad; her cats...I ain't about to mention her sister.)

5. You Know, I Don't Know
I just checked for the basics like a warrenty and math/word processing programs and a good AV subscription.

I assumed she had the old card and CD from her old computer.

I'll check on it tomorrow.
