Which era do you think had the ugliest fashion sense?
I would say the period from 1979 to 1985.

People will be tempted to answer with a whole decade (i.e. "the '70s," "the 80s"), but my observation is that fashions aren't that similar WITHIN a particular calendar decade, and they really tend to change around the middle of a decade, not the start of one.

6. A Republican, of course.
That's Victoria Clarke. I remember that hideous outfit very, very well. You can't come up with that kind of eyesore without some effort. :-)

:wtf:

When I looked at it at first, I didn't immediately see how hideous that outfit was. For about the first couple of seconds I just thought the, er, color coordination was a result of the way the photograph came out.

2. I don't know
I have some pictures that prove that I looked hideous from around 1984-1990. And I dressed in the height of fashion!

4. I say the entire 1970's.
The influx of polyester, hippie chic, leisure suits, and disco.

OTOH, I was in junior high then, and I wish I had my clothes from that era, I could make a fortune!

12. Yes, the 1970s, especially the
"style" of men spreading their shirt collar out over top of the lapels of their leisure suits.

9. The Norma Kamali enormous-shoulder-pad look of the 80s was
pretty awful, looking back. We all looked like middle linebackers, lol!

11. LOL... and it took me a while to get used to having normal shoulders
after that fad went away... You couldn't FIND a shirt or dress without shoulder pads at the time.

16. in my family all the women tore out those shoulder pads because
we already had shoulders like line backers and that look made a few of my cousins look like Jack Hamm wannabees for the Steelers...it was just atrocious....and they stuck them in all jackets....ick

10. The eighties by far
and the current revival makes me want to punch someone. Ugh. Second on that list would have to be the late 70's disco fashion nightmare.

14. The period from roughly 1967 to 1983 or so.
Although "fashion" generally tends to be pretty horrible...why else do you think it changes so often?

15. Fashion: a definition
Fashion: the 'art' of trying to make clothing look different but not stupid. Generally fails.
