One Day at a Time reunion?
I didn't think it was that great of a show to have a reunion. Oh well...

1. I loved that show
If they can have a "Happy Days" reunion (God, what a boring show that became) then One Day sure can.

I had the biggest crush on Valerie Bertinelli. I bet she's still smokin'.

I'll definitely watch it.

2. I never understood the laughing...or the laugh track...
There was basically one reason to watch that show, from my perspective...Valerie Bertinelli. Eddie Van Halen wasn't the ONLY man smitten by Ms. B...

I thought Bonnie Franklin was a little on the creepy side. And double that for McKenzie Phillips. The whole "Schneider" thing...OBVIOUSLY a "Fonzie Wannabe."

I always thought the show really, really, REALLY sucked. Except for Valerie. She rocked my world.

4. Bonnie Franklin, creepy?
No way. I thought Bonnie was cute and she was the main reason I watch that show.
Of course Valerie was (is) good looking also. But Bonnie was more attractive to me.
'sides Bonnie is about my age.

5. The Schneider character was one reason I did not
watch that show on a regular basis. I was always creeped out by the fact that the building maintenance man barged into their apartment anytime he so desired. I didn't have a wholesome childhood and Schneider looked like some of the guys my mom had hanging around the house at the time..they were creepy and so was he.

Another thing about the show that struck me as not being real was the fact that Bonnie Franklin was supposed to be divorced (as was my mom) but she lived quite well. My mom always struggled and we went hungry. ODAT made it look like divorced women lived very well.

6. Mackenzie Phillips is out of rehab again?
Who knew?

And I *certainly* didn't know Schneider was still alive.

8. I was wondering how many of the original characters were still alive
and not dead from overdoses or old age. The only one you hear about nowadays is Valerie B. and that's because she was married to Eddie Van Halen.

7. I'm not watching the reunion show, but...
...the series was, after a fashion, pretty strongly feminist. The lead character was a woman who had married young and wound up divorced in her 30s. The character played by Bonnie Franklin didn't have all the answers, but she had her head screwed on right and challenged expectations about women. There wasn't this dreck about kids getting in all the wisecracks and always being right (or deferred to by the parents). They all lived with their mistakes.
