Supersize Me ... anyone else see this film?
I rented it today and wow, what a complete shock. I knew it was going to be nasty, but not as nasty as it turned out to be.

I swear, I'll never ever eat at McD's again, not that I ever really did anyway.

I liked the way the film ended with the statement that 6 weeks after the film was released, the Supersized menu was dropped by McD's. Anyone else see this and have any comments?

btw ... what about those chicken McNugs ... :puke: :puke: :puke:

5. Yes, it's on the DVD
It's more like what didn't happen to those fries after an extended period of time.

11. Hmmm ...
I still have the DVD - I'll have to look again ... I saw some parts they left out but nothing about the french fries in a jar! I wonder if the DVD is the same everywhere?

23. I just watched it on DVD last week
and I didn't see that part.

I thought it was a great movie. Everyone who has ever eaten at McDonald's should go see it. I have never been a huge MIckey Dee's fan, but I will NEVER eat there again. :puke:

The part I will always remember is that the salads have more calories than the burgers. Absolutely amazing.

3. I watched it the day before Thanksgiving, for some odd reason
I wanted to stop eating for weeks afterward...

Actually, I haven't eaten at a McDonald's since 1985 and am sure not going to start now. :puke:

8. actually ...
My sibling died of cancer of the liver at a very young age and guess what? He lived an McD's and the like. I now know why he died. I had suspected it was his diet and yeah, he was very overweight and Supersized him self to death imo. :(

What a wake-up that movie is. It should be required viewing for all children/teenagers!

13. actually that happened to me
I quit eating all processed food about 2 years ago now (lots of very bad blood work which is much better now ... stated to be "fantastic" by one doctor recently).

However, I was in the hospital for awhile and they brought me this processed turkey meat heated up with some sort of gravy on it and I tried to eat it and yep, I puked it up myself so I can understand why he threw it up the way he did. If you aren't used to eating that crap you will get sick and :puke: .

Scary as hell is right!!

10. Great movie!
I'm pretty jealous of him having a hot vegan chef for a girlfriend. Do I have to move to NY to find someone like that? I'm not surprised he would be so badly effected if he went from eating vegan to that McD's crap.

I stopped eating at McD's after I read Fast Food Nation a couple years ago, which also made me eat vegetarian most of the time. That book is amazing.

14. he said he was not a vegan
and I never did hear the recipe for the tart she made. Wow, that looked good to me!

I'll have to next get and read Fast Food Nation. Hopefully that will cure me of any desires for bad/nasty food! :D

15. True, but
it sounded like he ate vegan often. I'm sure he did at home often with his girlfriend being a vegan chef. I'm still jealous.

I had a couple friends tell me they really wanted to eat at McD's after seeing the movie or reading the book. How weird is that? Anyway, the books is well worth the read. One of the best books I've read in years.

17. It's a great movie. Should be recommended viewing for teens.
We rarely eat at fast food joints, just because dh and I find as we age, we get SICK after eating a fast food meal. But between Supersize me and Fast Food Nation, I'm starting to think that stuff should be banned. yuck! Sort of makes me laugh (not really) that the FDA wants to regulate herbal remedies, but I bet you dollars to donuts the crap they put in that fast food is far more risky than any herbal remedy.

18. When I sat down to watch it I thought it was going to be
a comedy .. don't know WHY I thought that!

far from it, it's a wake up call for all of those people who live on fast food.

I've not eaten at McD's in 2 months. Won't ever again.

21. I did sit and watch it with a kid
My 13 year old son, and when it was over he went, "I am never eating at Mickie Dess again." No what we have not, he has even not ordered anything from their when a friends mom goes their and asks if he wants anything.

22. Haven't eaten at a McDonalds since Feb 2004
Don't miss it one bit. Especially after seeing that film. Blech.

I do notice that since I stopped eating that crap, maintaining a fit 185 pound figure as opposed to my previous weight of 210 is way easier now.

24. A Clear and Present Danger.
A weapon of mass destruction. That franchise has killed more people than
Al Queda, Hammas, Hezbolla, the KKK, and the Manson Family.
I propose a quick strike on all McDonald's in the United States using Tommahawk Missles.
