Blockbuster's "No late fees" campaign is incredibly misleading
At our local Blockbuster, if you don't return the movie within a week, you have to buy the movie. I understand they have to have some sort of policy in order for people to be motivated to actually return their movies, but they don't tell you that, when you check the movie out. They just say "We don't have late fees anymore."

1. Apparently they're getting their ass sued for misleading . . .
Their customers.

Major sleazoids, always have been, overpriced and predatory toward smaller shops and even smaller chains.

Would it shock you to hear they're based in Tex-ass?

6. What happened? Did you walk out without paying a dime?
My husband returned "Shall We Dance" this morning. We had the movie 7 days. They told him that had we returned the movie tomorrow, he would have had to pay for it. How come they don't have a disclaimer somewhere boldly displayed in the store? Sheeesh!

11. No, they charged me for a movie returned on the due date.
They need a glass stomach (so they can see while they have that head up their butts). It was my very first rental from block buster, also my last.

7. From what I read
you get charged a buck and a quarter "restocking" fee after a week. After 30 days, you get charged for the movie.

Somebody at Blockbuster made one bonehead of a business decision. They will have legal fees up the ying-yang and untolled loss of customer good will. Myself, I haven't been to BB in years because I always thought they were a shabby operation anyhow.
