I just got my first edition of Mother Jones magazine!

I've got an ACLU card in my wallet, a Costco card, too.

A DU sticker on my car.

Hell, what more do I need?

(Please don't say start braiding things out of hemp, please don't say start braiding things out of hemp...)

I have a DU sticker, an HRC sticker (doesn't matter, no one knows what it stands for anyway), one that says "HATE is not a family value" and one that says "BUSH LIES, PEOPLE DIE, How many lies can YOU take?"

I love the looks.

Come on, go for it! I live in Dallas!

almost got run off the road during the campaign because she had a Kerry/Edwards sticker on her car and it kinda scared me off putting anything on my car. But I am beginning to feel like a big baby for not wearing my politics on my sleeve, er, bumper.

24. Flexible magnets
Buy 'em at a craft store and affix your liberal bumper stickers to them. Then you can take them off when you park so's your car doesn't get vandalized.

That's what I do here in Houston.

Buying only organic produce?

Finally tear down your shrine to Zell Miller?

And you have to braid your clothing from hemp.

14. Dammit, I NEVER had a shrine to Zell Miller
I have shrines to Loretta Lynn and Bob Marley.

I do only buy organic produce, meat and dairy. That's true.

RECYCLED TOILET PAPER? Erm....

Dammit, I can't get my hands on any hemp, so that's too bad.

It's okay to buy recycled toilet paper. It isn't recycled from the sewer.

And you don't have to weave your own hemp products. Try the lip balm. Best there is.

is what patchouli is. I never understood why anyone would want to make themselves smell like damp newspaper that had been rubbed up against a rutting deer's butt.

(Don't ANYONE ask how it is that I know what damp newspaper that has been rubbed up against a rutting deer's butt smells like in the first place.)

40. It's a pheromone thing
That's why all the old hippies wore it as an essential oil. VERY effective sexual attractant, but only when worn with subtlety (otherwise, the rutting deer is applicable). Useful during the days of free love and endless orgies that EVERYONE IN AMERICA participated in.

18. Are abortions the same thing as notches?
Well I have had 11 miscarriages while trying to have a second child, but I didn't do that, mother nature did. Does that count? One fundie told me it does, and that I was a horrible person for "allowing" all those miscarriages to happen. She also told me she'd pray for my "baby angels in heaven."

So I feel I still qualify on this point, though I've never had an abortion.

It's ok, really. It was years ago and I'm quite accepting of it now. We have one child, we are very very happy and extremely lucky! It's not something I think about, but that woman just threw me for a loop. I never thought anyone could think like that, not even the most hardcore fundie.

22. Ok I did do an experiment with the armpit thing once
and, the long and the short of it (LOL) is that the experiment was over pretty quickly.

Couldn't stand it. Can't overcome all those years of cultural conditioning to have clean-shaven pits, I just can't. I caved. I shaved.

As for my legs, hardly any hair grows on my legs anyway (Indian blood). When I say hardly any, I mean almost NONE.

My head? No thanks!

31. Japanese cars are for east and west coast liberals
and others who don't "get" unions and the whole American made thing. Those are the types of elitist liberals that Republicans like to make fun of.

Michael Moore is good, but Al Franken is still a conventional mainstream Democrat. If you want to be a real leftie you should go buy a People's History of the United States or Profit over People.
It sounds like you're doing a good job at being a leftie though.

I've been meaning to buy some Chomsky just to see what all the buzz is about.

And I think that's a rather insulting stereotype.
The lunchlady at my daughter's school told a table full of kids that Democrats never work, they are lazy, and they just ask for handouts from the government.

She was "transferred" shortly after that.

(well, I was inside, but not in my outer life yet) and I was very isolated when I had her, too (no family or friends nearby).

So no pressure either way. Just me losing my mind from sleep deprivation.
