OMG! I just saw an ad for Kirstie Alley in "Fat Actress" on Showtime!
It's a new series starting March 7. Is this going to be a good thing?

I don't know what to think.

Kirstie is a good actress...are they just going to use all of the "stereotypes" to promote this show? In the commercial she looked like she has gained a LOT of weight for the title role.

What do you think? Is this show going to be expoitive or what? And, will America love it regardless...if it's "funny"?

Or, will Kirstie have the last laugh?

1. Kirstie gained the weight THEN came up with the show
She didn't gain the weight for the show. She's getting the last laugh at all those tabloids that have been making fun of her. I think she's hilarious. She was on Jay Leno the other night and it sounds like she has a great sense of humor about this and like it will be a good show. I'm gonna watch.

2. she can have on
shirley knight, tyne daly, and sharon gless too. With my current physique I'm on shaky ground critiquing others', but it's late and this is the lounge.

3. According to an article in People Magazine...
she is making an attempt to lose the weight. Frankly, I hope she does. I see her on re-runs of "Cheers" all the time, and she looks beautiful. I hope she's successful both with the show and with her diet. I'll be watching!

5. Maybe she can get back to a healthy weight...
She seems motivated, according to the People Magazine article.

I'd be worried about my cholesterol, blood pressure and general joint health if I had let myself go to 200+ lbs. Heck, I'm sick of the weight I'm carrying around... and it ain't near that amount!

I used to think she was the hottest. I've had to start looking for a new poster girl. :puffpiece:
