It was implied in the GD forum that I was a freeper when I cautioned another poster on making blanket generalizations on the behavior of republicans. It doesn't do much to foster reasonable debate when disagreement brings accusations or implications of being a freeper.

someone had posted a link to CU where the freepers were talking about how you get to stay on here without getting banned right away and they were saying how the "key" is to get over a thousand posts. The other posters were talking about how they stay in the lounge and get post counts up so they can go disrupt without getting banned later.

21. That happened to me several times last fall

Primarily in GD and GD2004, when I had the audacity to point out our registration drives were incredibly overrated and would not be worth the 2-3% hidden advantage that many DUers were counting on. Or that preference was much more vital than GOTV, in that election or any other. Or that an incumbent whose party had been in office only one term had a huge advantage, 10 of 11 re-elections in that scenario since 1900. Or that Republicans were equally motivated and would be storming the polling places on November 2. If we believed otherwise, we were fooling ourselves and setting up the possibility of a huge befuddled letdown.

The posters who shot me down and called me a freeper based on those points are now huddled in the Election Results 2004 forum, still in denial with every cynical conspiracy thread, particularly Mr. 99.9%.

I don't feel like suiting up and posting under different names. If I have an opinion, I state it. I am on different sites and debate left, right and can't find a middle. I would stay away from calling people Freepers. I have in the past and it only disrupts.

I remember that someone accused me when I was around the 200 post mark cos I had a Hello Kitty avatar.

I was rippin' mad for two reasons

First because not only am I from Massachusetts, but I worked REALLY hard on the Kerry campaign (thus I didn't join DU to post till AFTER the election). I got my Repug mom & brother to vote Dem for the first time EVER.

Second, because my avatar was chosen cos my UserID means "kitten" in Japanese. I lived there for 6 years, and I am a kitty freak.
