What are some good computer games?

I played Doom years and years ago. Since then about all I've had is Flight Simulator.

3. Are there ever.

If you liked Doom, you can cheaply buy Quake 1 and 2, or Unreal Tournament (1999). That is about as fast as my computer will run, but if I could I would buy Doom 3 in a heartbeat.

On my Xbox I play a lot of Halo 2, the Halo series is GREAT.

8. I have heard nothing but amazing things

It is going to be watered down (I am sure) for the Xbox, but those that have played or reported about Doom 3 PC have been very, very positive.

10. I got sick of the run and shoot

so I tried Thief. I found a copy of Thief 2, and the graphics are pretty good, the sound is great, and the gameplay is pretty sweet. Much more emphasis on sneaking around, hiding in shadows, and, from time to time, blackjacking guards. Anyway, Thief 3 is out now, reviews are so-so, but it takes a pretty beefy computer to keep up with it.

Also, I dig Age of Mythology. Big Age of Empires fan....

I have played Doom 3 a few times, and after taking a break from shooters, it scared the begeesus out of me. Good time!
