"I'd SURE hate to see what a man of Satan is like!!!"

I was standing in line for some groceries this morning before taking the kid to school. The woman in line in front of us had one of those news magazines in her hand and was flipping through it. The page she was on had a picture of bush.

My daughter, ten years old and never the shy one, said to the woman in a stage whisper, "They say he's a man of God."

The woman looked at my daughter, looked at the picture, LAUGHED really loudly and said, "If THAT'S a man of God, I'd SURE hate to see what a man of Satan is like!!!"

I was a bit flabbergasted by the whole exchange--I didn't know why my daughter even said what she did. But when the woman reacted that way, I doubled over in laughter.

Now that's my daughter's favorite new phrase: "I'd SURE hate to see what a man of Satan is like!"

My daughter must have had some kind of radar and pegged this woman as a non-bush lover or something. She and I (the woman) had a great little chat in line. I told her about DFA meetups, first Wednesday of every month, and scribbled down the web address for it on a piece of paper. She seemed very happy to get it.

What a great morning.
