Who watched "Lost" last night?
I don't really get the Sawyer flashbacks- who did he kill and why?

What was the point of having him meet up with Jack's father?

Really small world, even outside of the island, on "Lost".

1. He killed him because....
He thought that was the guy who had his mom killed.

But it turned out that he was conned. He ended up killing a guy because he borrowed money.

It pissed me off when Sawyer said "I've never voted democrat".

2. Real quick suggestion, even though I saw it already-
you may want to put ***SPOILER*** or something like that in your subject line.

Sawyer killed the man he thought conned his mother. Basically, the man who drove Sawyer's father to kill his mother, then himself. As for meeting Jack's father, I believe that was some coincidence which I'm sure will be significant at a later date.

3. Meeting up with Jack's father...
actually, I think, is going to help Sawyer back on the road to humanity. He is beginning to realize that not only do people not know each other very well, but oftentimes don't even know THEIR OWN stories completely. Last night's episode was about Sawyer finding out what he was made of, and I think the glimmer of compassion is finding its way to the surface.

Besides, Sawyer's hot. Not that that has anything to do with anything, but I feel it bears repeating.

4. He really is hot ... and this is a conflict for me... he's a bad guy
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 01:08 PM by madison2000
so he can't be hotter than Naveen Andrews or Matthew Fox who are the better characters!

Edit: This show is too well written to last long on televison...

5. None of them are truly good or bad.
Everybody--at least, everybody whose stories we've seen--has done things for which they are (or should be) ashamed. Jack and Sayeed tortured Sawyer, for Christ's sake. And Sayeed used to do that for a living. Sawyer's biggest problem is a messed-up psyche from witnessing his father kill first Sawyer's mother, then himself. I think Sawyer is going to prove to be, at heart, a more noble character than either Jack or Sayeed.

But then again, I've always had a soft spot for the "bad guys".

6. From the theories I have read,
I appears Hurley is the wild card; supposedly his flashback episode is supposed to be a doozy.
