he isn't all that bad...personally I liked Lennon better but Paul isn't bad...

5. Driving Rain was an great album
It's too bad it didn't sell as well, but I would put it up there with his earlier solo work.
I also have to say that someone gave me his latest live DVD and I reluctantly watched it. I was blown away by how good he still is. If you ever get a chance, you might want to check it out.
There is no doubt that he doesn't appeal to the younger generations today, but that is because of his age. I'm surprised by how negative people are about McCartney.

6. i think it is
the memory people have of the youthfulness they hold of these stars

and the embarassment of watching their dessicated carcasses trying to remain relevant in a music world that in no way resembles the industry when they first started making records.

7. You might be right
But it also has to do with people thinking that because someone isn't in their 20s, they aren't allowed to play music.
The sad fact is, in my opinion...that most of the "older" musicians can run circles around most of the young "rockers" that are mainly ripping off the old rockers anyway.
I think people should start to develop the attitude that there is room for everybody.
