Let's "Conversate"...
young teen I know tends to use the (created) word "conversate" instead of converse (e.g., "let's conversate about that..."

I'm rather bored tonight - am looking for "conversating" - what would you like to "conversate" about tonight?

1. Um... ok, what's your favorite forum on DU?
And what are you up to other than hanging out here? :)

3. ALWAYS start with LBN, oft followed by editorials
before migrating to the lounge in the evening. Have to get that news fix, first.

Tonight - am just decompressiong (have law and order on the tv while I post) after a 12+ hour work day.

And your reading habits (in terms of order of forum scanning) when you first log in to DU? And beyond DU, whats up in your real world?

5. I hit "Latest" and see what strikes my fancy.

Then Texas and the Non-Fiction Book Forum (my two pet forums) and then usually a look at LBN and GD. (And, of course, 7:00 CST, I am always to be found in ERD in the Countdown threads, hee hee.)

Me, I'm just hanging out watching Southpark. And trying to sort out some precinct chair training. We've got city council races come up soon.... the fun doesn't stop! Do you have any fun local politics going on in your area?

edit: is that your blog, in your sig?

7. Forgot to add
that I know have added the Indiana forum to my early look list...

Here we have a three of four year election cycle. Nothing coming up in the next year - so the focus is on following our new gov (my b*tch mitch, as he is known by some) and trying to get some awareness going about his moves in the statehouse.

Cool you are doing the precinct chair, thing. I have done some election official (working polls) work, in the past couple of years - but haven't had enough time to take on a whole lot more.

The link in the sig isn't to my blog... (don't really have one)... but to a really interesting post that I read on a blog about "retaking the frame "PC" when the anti PCer schtick gets thrown up. Found it so effective that I wanted to promote it a bit. Put it in a few weeks ago - and am generally so lazy about my "options" that once I put something in the sig (or avatar - note mine is from november) that it stays for awhile...) Don't know if a single person has ever seen the sig and then checked out the post on the blog, or not - but at least I can delude myself that I am getting a few folks to take a gander at it... Ironically, beyond that post, I haven't read much of the blog (it was linked from one of the handful of blogs that I regularly read)....

13. I'm reading the blog now.
it's good stuff! all about reframing. I'm actually in a Lakoff study group IRL right now and this will come in quite handy. Wish our Democratic leaders would study this stuff too!

14. If you find it effective, and pass it on to others to read,
then my linking it (even if noone else has looked at it... and you only did due to our conversation) will feel like it served a purpose in sharing it with some folks who might be able to use it.

The Lakoff stuff is good. Cool you are in a study group to discuss some of the work. Yes - hope that more democratic leaders start becoming versed in these ideas.

4. LOL
I would almost try these words on this young man, but he is still pondering when words like "commiserate" are used (and he does pretty well per context clues to figure it out)... if I were to use "commiserance" - would just lose him...

The latter does make me think of the junior and his "malfeeance" reference to exec behavior in the implosions of Enron, Adelephia and World Com.

6. Maybe your ears were ringing
I was just on the phone with Be Here Now who is looking at going back into the work force and your name came up since she expressed her vocational interest and the target audience she wishes to work with.

8. Now there is a small world in action...
if I can be of any help - per getting a sense of potential organizatons or types of jobs - please pass along my interest of being helpful. The nice thing is I have both practical work experience, as well as research/analytical (and policy) view of work in the field.

as always :hi:!
