I laughed, I cried, my head exploded!
Here's a good chuckle for all you sad and despondent people on this board this morning.

1. As someone who takes anti-depressants, and who will for the
rest of my life, I don't think that's very funny. Those pills have been a godsend, and I don't appreciate the stigma that this is perpetuating. Depression is a REAL medical illness, and I get tired of having to explain that to people who think it's just a matter of "pulling yourself up" and "cheering up."

2. It's a joke...
you know what they say about not being able to take a joke ...right?

As someone who has suffered with depression for my entire life I do in fact have some clue as to what it entails and what these drugs do. I get very tired of people having little or no simpathy but you know what I can laugh at myself and my condition.

I'm sorry you can't do the same.

It was joke. If it wasn't funny, it's still a joke.

3. It may have been a joke to you, but the
reason it wasn't funny to me is that a lot of people who've never had to deal with depression or any other type of mental illness still have a lot of misperceptions and stigmas about it and things like this just perpetuate the stereotypes.
