6. Why?
baseball is America's game.
baseball is not a fast moving, video kind of game, but it has so many levels of interest that it is impossible not to love it once you watch it with interest.

7. baseball is not fast moving?
Yeah sure. I guess it moves slow enough that that umpire had no problem making the wrong call at first base and preventing St. Louis from winning the 1985 World Series.

12. Baseball is a great game
You can love the offense, the athletism and ballet of the defensive plays, the artistry of the pitch and the great TEAMWORK to accomplish all of these. So many levels! So many nuances! So what if it can proceed at a snail's pace at times? That's the nature of the game. Once in awhile, a worthwhile player comes to the front to capture the country's love and admiration (Ruth, Clemente, Kolfax, Robinson, to name a few). The list on this is immense. Baseball's long-standing records are foil for the imagination and a direct challenge to it's players and a testament to it's very long (almost 175 years) and storied history.
Go cubbies!

10. I'm a White Sox fan
For the sake of the city I hope the Cubs make it, but this is SO HARD. If only the Sox had taken the trouble to win a few of those games from the Twins. Oy,oy....
