WV House passes tongue-splitting bill

House Majority Leader Rick Staton hopes that by getting an early start this year, legislation that outlaws tongue-splitting unless done by a physician can pass the Legislature.

Staton, D-Wyoming, introduced the bill about halfway through last year’s legislative session, only to see it pass the House of Delegates and quickly die in the Senate.

“Last year, everybody made light of it and now it’s a trend that’s swept the country,” Staton said.

They are taking over. I can't walk down the block without tripping over some piece of tongue that fell out of someone's mouth after a botched tongue splitting procedure.
