Airline Offers Designer Vomit Bags

Virgin Atlantic Airlines is showcasing designs from an unusual competition -- an international sick bag competition.

The competition was organized by a Web site called Design For Chunks.

The site called on artists around the world to submit designs for the airline's sick bags.

Out of 600 entries, 20 designs were chosen to represent the best of designer sick bags. Only a few of the designs depict actual vomiting.

The sick bags are being distributed on Virgin Atlantic flights around the world.

"Sick bags are a mandatory requirement but rarely get used -- so we thought we would brighten them up and turn them into a talking point," said Virgin Atlantic's Lysette Gauna. "We're really excited about bringing art from around the world to such a huge number of people via our sick bags. It's a first in the industry and we're sure these bags will soon become a collectors' item."

The sick bags will be in the seat backs of all Virgin Atlantic flights till mid-2005.

have pictures of vomit on the insides? That would be an interesting touch.
