What's the cheesiest disco song in your opinion?
I'm sure the competition is stiff for that dubious honor, but as far as songs that I know, it's "Born to be Alive" by Patrick Hernandez.

1. all of 'em
I like rap way better than disco, and disco was "in the day" for me...though all my white 40-something friends hate rap...despise it.

20. Car Wash Is Not Cheesy! It's Fun! :-)
:hi:

How can anyone NOT tap their foot, or dance in their seat, or get up and boogie, or sing along whenever they hear it?

You might not ever get rich... but lemme tell ya it's better than diggin' a ditch!

8. "Disco Duck"
Though maybe it shouldn't be included since it's meant to be...

"I Will Survive" is definitely cheesy; I know a lot of people find it empowering, but I've just never been a fan.

I like most of KC and the Sunshine Band's big hits but "I'm Your Boogie Man" scores a little too high on the cheese meter for me.

FWIW, I actually like most disco. I know most of it isn't deep in any way, but that's a lot of what I like about it.

15. It wasn't originally a disco song . ..
but a giant batch of slightly listenable, Shatneresque weirdness by Richard Harris (yes, THAT Richard "Dumbledore" Harris) and Jimmy Webb in 1968. The lyrics have some meaning to SOMEbody . . .

My answer would be "Dancin' Johnson" by Bill Saluga from the "You can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay" beer commercial fame.

28. Anyone remember Joe Tex's attempt at disco?
It was called "Ain't Gonna Bump No More (With No Big Fat Woman)," and it was a depressing low point in the career of a great soul singer.
