Pray for President Bush - Day 1607 - 2.10.05

Dearest Heavenly Father, our hearts are filled with joy for the marvelous things You have done. We praise Your holy name, and acknowledge that we love You with our whole hearts. We praise You, our Creator, for Your Sovereignty and Power over all the earth.
Father, we bring before You tonight, our brother in Christ, President Bush, and ask for Your divine protection over him as he does the work with which You have entrusted him. Grant him wisdom and discernment in each decision he must make, and create in him a pure heart. Help him to love others above himself, and to walk aright in fellowship with his Savior, Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help him to abide in You as a branch in the Vine, drawing sustinence and strength from You alone. Keep him safe as he travels throughout the country, and help him to be able to successfully communicate to the people of the United States, that which he seeks to make known. Lord, we are grateful that he continues to mention the importance of loving others in order to be citizens of this great nation, and we ask that the message that he speaks that comes from You and Your word might radiate from within him and reveal the love of Jesus in his heart.

Lord, we pray as well for Laura, and for their marriage, and ask that You would keep it strong and committed, and that they would both be strong and not yield to any temptation which would take them apart from each other, or more importantly from You. Keep them both focused on Your service and on becoming holy as You are holy. Bless and protect Barbara and Jenna, and help them to grow and mature into women of faith.

Father, we are mindful of the need to pray for our troops, and their families. We pray that You would put a blanket of protection over those who are serving in harm's way, and Lord, we pray for swift and sure justice for the evil men who are killing the Iraqi people and our troops. We pray that You would bind Satan, and bring an end to the violence in that land.

And Lord, we pray for this great nation, asking You to forgive us our sins and cleanse us. Lord, we pray for an increasing awareness among the American people for the evil of abortion that we might rise up and put an end to this holocaust. We pray, Lord, that we might be a nation that honors You in everything we do. Bring us back, we pray, to the roots in morality and divine law on which we were founded. Keep Your people faithful in prayer and in giving witness to Your great love for us. And Lord, as we enter this Lenten season where we remember Your great sacrifice for our sins, keep us humble and obedient to whatever You would have us do. Help us to be a sweet fragrance in this world, we pray in the name of Jesus, who sacrifices His life for the remission of our sins, Amen.
