9. Honestly, it depends on a LOT of variables
Most importantly, the Yankees have Rivera(Mariano, not Juan). In other words, they have a LEGIT closer. Boston? They won't DARE throw BK out against the Yankees; they'd have to be beyond retarded/drunk to do that.
Second, starting pitching for the Sox beyond Pedro: sometimes, it just doesn't function. Pedro is a damn near a given win for the Sox.
Defense: Yankees HAVE been shaky all year...but so has Boston.
Offense: Boston. But lately, NEITHER teams have been hitting well w/RISP, except on Sunday when the Yankees tore the Twins apart.
So basically no one is dominating the other.
I say Yanks in 5 or 6.

10. I suspect..
..the poll is Yankee haters vs. Yankee fans. As a Yankee fan I have lots of good friends who are Yankee haters. I understand.

I'm not a fair weather fan either. I lived through the "Horace Clark" years.

27. Why are you a Red Sox hater?
Yes, there are those ugly 'Yankees Suck' Red Sox fans, but that's blaming the majority for a minority of neanderthals. My family has had seasons tikets for generations, and we are surrounded by great fans.

I don't blame Yankees fans for the few that toss batteries at players and debris on the field when things don't go their way. Why do you HATE Boston so much? I bet you've never been here...

22. Red Sox=Democrats, Yankees=Republicans
Yankees are the best team money can buy.

The Red Sox are the underdogs, but the best hitting underdogs in baseball.

GO SOX!!!

36. Yankee fan since age 7. . .
been through the good, the bad, the ugly, the tragic, and the glorious with them for over 40 years!!

I was 9 when I first went to Yankee Stadium (June 1965) and actualy saw Mickey Mantle swing his bat and hit a home run to win the game. (he was in the twilight of his career then, but what does a kid know anyway?)

My prediction: Yankees in SEVEN barn-burners!!
