What is the Problem with Sirius
I just heard on the news today that XM satelite radio will be providing satelite radio of the airplane company AirTram. Early this year XM announced that it was introducing the portable satelite radio. Why isn't Sirius doing any of this? They should be trying to get their radio system in airplane and put out a portable player.

2. It's Not a Surprise That XM Landed the Airline Contract
before Stern signed, they were a distant #2. Any airline wanting a stable business partner would be likely to go with XM. Now the playing field may be more equal.

As far as the portable player goes, they'll come out with one. They're not the business leaders and not as likely to be first in the market with innovations. Businesses usually don't like to pre-announce new products and overhang the market.

Sirius's goal now should be signing the best lineup of shows for their car radios and getting new users. Once they overtake XM, they can work on side businesses.

3. I heard from a supposed insider that XM is in the process of aquiring
sirius. Wouldn't suprise me though, XM is cheaper and in my opinion a little better.

4. XM and Sirius are likely to merge before the year ends
But I am sure Sirius is aware of XM's moves. From what I can tell XM has been focussing more on distribution recently while Sirius has been focussing on content (Stern and the NFL).
