How Long Until HDTV Becomes REALLY Mainstream?
At the moment, it's still a really high-end thing.

How long until it's as common as digital cameras or DVD's?

4. Some might say it already is........

But practically speaking, it will be at least 5 years before everything.....broadcasts, videotaping, editing, recording, etc,....are 90% HDTV.

BTW, I once got the opportunity to view the Miss Hawaiin Tropic contest on HD and my opinion is......

TMI. You could see every blemish, every imperfection. I prefer life to be viewed in a slightly impressionistic mode HDTV just demolishes.

5. I have a HDTV monitor (16:9 aspect ratio), but no OTA receiver.
I bought it a couple of years back because I really covetted the widescreen aspect ratio for DVDs and such.
