What did I do to deserve this?: Sinus Infection 2005
Okay, I'm wondering what kind of karma sin I committed to spend the past five days with a nose that runs like a faucet, sore throat, low-grade fever, and generally feeling like crap. (This, of course, has nothing to do with the fact that DH donated the illness to me. I'll deal with him later.)

I'm going back to bed. AAAargh!

2. LMAO
>it shoves all the bad stuff up your sinuses<

Believe me, there's no possible way to pick the nose right now. I'm too busy emptying box after box of Kleenex.

Did I mention that this is all DH's fault? ;-)

3. Got news for you, that's influenza 2005
It's pretty bad this year. Stay in bed, do the usual fluids, expectorant, ibuprofen/aspirin, etc., and be careful. Mine turned into a sinus/ear infection, then bronchitis, then pneumonia. Take care of yourself.

6. Susang, thank you
Considering the fact that we both got flu shots, I would like to urge all fellow evilDU'ers to take care of themselves.

What a blast. NOT.

4. My current bout, which started eight-nine days ago, is the second-
worst respiratory bout of my life, exceeded only by the flu in '85. Good luck.

5. The worse is trying to eat with this mess
I essentially have to eat with my mouth wide open so I can actually get oxygen in me.

My thoughts are with you. This sucks.

Julie

p.s. I can't believe that Will Pitt hasn't made his way to your home to spoon-feed you chicken soup by now. He calls himself your friend?

Shocking.

9. Are you on a week's vacation for the 1stt time in many years??????
Edited on Tue Feb-08-05 05:40 PM by Patiod
No??

Well then, Miss Julie, no sympathy from me. I got the same damned thing during October - constant crying/eye leakage, PND, stabbing pains in the eye, puffy face, the works. And of course it was during our vacation. All I wanted to do was get in bed, and instead we were driving from Phx to Tucson to Tombstone and then back up the state to the Grand Canyon - 1200 miles on the rental car.

All we did was argue, because I was an evil irritable pseudophedrine bitch (it was either that or a leaky-eyed leaky-nosed monster). Was chewing Sinu-Tab like they were candy, and it only cleared it up about 1/2 way. I'm sure some of the drugstores thought I was cooking meth. Took away the appetite and made me mean.

Only upside -- it was Arizona, so at least the AIR was dry.

But I do hope you feel better. At least you have DU when daytime TV gets too tedious.

10. Patiod, why didn't DH drive you to our house?!!?
Think of the fun. Non-stop chocolate, satellite TV, and 2200 square feet of excitement. We could've prank called BartCop if things get slow ;-).

I'm working on Day 6. This is not fun. I can only sympathize with your week from Hell, because I'm now living it.

Did I mention that I had the goddamn flu shot?

Julie
wondering if I should have bought stock in whomever makes "Puffs" tissues

12. To hell with Puffs
As mentioned, I bought enough pseudoephedrine to cook up many batches of meth. It wasn't the flu though - no headache, no fever -- just a sinus infection. Would've been out of work for at least 3 days, but you know, you're on vacation, DH has never seen the American West, we had to do it. We got to Tombstone at 7pm (10pm according to my BODY), and all I wanted to do was sleep for 2 days, but it's our favorite movie, and I could tell Ralph was just ITCHING to see the real place, so off we went to a cheesy touristy saloon, me all hopped up on Sudafed. The next morning I couldn't breathe, so I sat in a hot tub for a few hours. And then off to Tombstone again to see it in daylight. We ended up helping the new mayor get elected, but that's another story....

For all the driving we did, we should have tooled up the the Beautiful Pacific Northwest instead! I don't know if Ralph could deal with several days of hard-core Bush-bashing, though!
