1. I've been looking into Domes for when I move to Florida in
a few years. But, I've been looking into hurricane proof domes. The link you provided looks like canvas.

2. Funny you mention that...
I was just looking at engineering specifications for snow loads (we live in the NorthEast) and this chart lists wind loads as well...
