and only did a brief dip into GDP - is there a need for some Orville in those fora? Probably a wise move, though, to horde the popcorn (thereby keeping it benign popcorn) for the lounge :D

When I lived in Va Beach, our idea of a real beach getaway was to head down to Nag's Head or any of those Outer Banks beaches. :D

29. Same thing when I lived in DC
would do a big road trip for a week at "the beach" in Nags Head - or the last year in "Duck". Who knows - maybe our paths crossed on the beach and we never knew...

31. I have been to Duck!
HAHA! I forgot about Duck! Went camping on the beach around there Labor Day weekend of 1981. Damn near got pulled down in the undertow. My surfboard saved my ass when I remembered this PSA on late night TV about swimming parallel to the shore to get out of it.

I would think I would have remembered a classic beach beauty such as yourself, but you never know! If you lived in DC in the early-to-mid 70's, or in the late 70's-to-late 80's, we could have crossed paths down south in Carolina. ;-)

36. Did the Outerbanks thing
around Mem day from '85-'87. That last year we escaped a big cicada invasion in No. VA. The ole 17 year variety which I just lived through in another ground zero cicada area this past summer!

Aw, you make me blush - I seriously think that few who see me think "classic beauty"... but thanks :D

Back in '84 during my first visit I was enthralled with the hang gliders going off (and into) the dunes at Kitty Hawk. Put in on my list of things to do (haven't yet done it)... but it may have lead to my being game for doing an airplane jump in CA in the '90s. Hated the freefall part of the jump - but the gliding/banking (pullng on one side of the 'chute so that one's fall gets a sideways arc) - that was fantastic. Of course two days later a visiting prof, in a wheel chair, let me know how she ended up in the wheelchair and I lost my love of sky diving... Glad I did it once, before having that bit of reality intrude...

38. '85-87!
My first 2 years of college, at ODU. Don't think I was down there any of those May weekends. But funny how close we lived to one another.

I admit I am a wimp about sky diving. Why jump out of a perfectly good metal cylinder going several hundred mph?

Hang gliding I could see enjoying. My parents bought my sister's husband some hang gliding lessons at the Outer Banks sometime back then.

So if you saw him, you'd know. ;-)

Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, VA , lol. Overwhelming, huh? It was once a branch of William & Mary, before spinning off on its own as ODC, then ODU in the 70's. That nugget of useless info now occupies a precious brain cell. :D

I stayed in college awhile, eventaully finishing my undergrad work out in WA state in the early 90's. It was good times, good times. :-)

46. I've heard about...
(no not about the freeper b-i-l)... about Old Dominion... thought it was in Richmond (my mistake). Job used to take me down to Williamsburg several times a year - nice area. Didn't realize that William and Mary ever had any "branches" - sorta think of branch Us being off shoots of large Us (like UVA; IU, etc.) See that brain cell teaches another brain cell...

Not the early nineties - but did a trip up to Bellingham (western wash U) to see friend from my old DC days who were then profs - back in about '95. Beautiful area, but hostile to folks from California (and even though Californians wouldn't claim me - as I was a transplant; Washingtonians viewed any visitor from CA as hostile... ;-) )

47. LOL!
I had friends at WWU in Bellingham. I went to CWU in Ellensburg, class of '92.

I remember the anti-CA hostility well. Drove up real-estate prices and increased the traffic. I remember joking (since I am a CA native) that I wonder if it counts I am a Californian since I was last a resident of CA in 1979... and came by a different route, lol. I certainly couldn't afford a house, even pre-influx. Washingtonians can be a bit too provinicial, a trait that seems even larger since I left.

So maybe we crossed paths in Seattle... you're stalking me! :D

50. Can one stalk.. if one doesn't yet know the target?
'spose it is possible :-) (btw, that is the nice way of saying... "in your dreams!") Though my timing in your haunts does seem to precede you.

Ever get down to the Bay area between late '93 and early '99? You didn't say that you were from No Cal., but it does seem that in that era lots of folks visited between the Seattle and San Francisco area, frequently.

I am venturing to guess... almost even odds... that you didn't spend any time in Indiana in the late nineties or later - thus breaking the potential subconscience stalking trend of the previous decade...

It's a pretty good dream.

I am from San Diego originally... went through the Oakland airport in '96 if that counts, lol.

Drove through Indiana in '88, on I-64.

Guess it's just a college-related stalk. ;-)

57. Who is stalking who now?
I was in Indiana in '88 (before moving a state north)... granted I was a bit north of I 64.

Interesting to think, however, of how close our paths had crossed in the 80s and 90s. Kinda cool...

Now we could make it official (or at least more intentional) to meet in the NE to see the already infamous bunny suited Lynnesin in Boston...

11. LOL.. but at least being only in the fictional/stage version
you are safe from the potential Perot problems per the newest Enron revelations (remember - his company - tried to shop out their consulting skills at gaming the system in California - after their company helped California write the computer programs/systems for the dereg system... now they claim no foul on fraud nor trading on insider info - because "no one took them up on their business offers"... but sooner or later the question should arise - just how was it that Enron figured out all the schemes and angles so quickly? (now reportedly very early on after the dereg went into effect in 1998). Okay - that is irrelevant on this thread - but it was fresh in the memory since the newer reveals came out late last week... :D
