So I'm going to Argentina
They outsourced my job to Argentina, and I'm being sent there for a week in March, to train the people who will take my job away. I guess the good thing is, I'm getting a free trip?

How bad can life be, moving from one soon to be third world economy, puritanical gulag to a real third world economy that knows how to party?

2. why not quit before you can train the newbies?
I never understood why companies thought this was a good idea. Suit 1: "Hey - lets get the good workers that we're firing to show their cheaper replacements how everything works!" Suit 2: "Great idea! They are an excellent resource!" :wtf:

4. If it involves outdated technology
Our buddy may move into the lucrative world of international consulting for about two decades. the plan is try to keep other parts of our empire always buying our crap that is outdated and passing it off as just as good...

6. I'm considering that, looking for a job right now
But at least if I don't find one by then, I'll get a free trip out of them :)

3. do you mind sharing what company you work for...or if it is a big or small
company? Anyway, what happens if you refuse to train them? I imagine they will fire you, but could you negotiate a consulting fee to train them, or a nice severance package if they want you to train them.

10. Oh. The same company who is terminating a friend
because she is a year before she could get any retirement package from them. She has to train her replacement too.

"Even of a bad sheep, you can get a chunk of good wool" (sounds better in russian), so that's what I'm going with :)
