Mrs. McLargehuge is in the throws of labor

I am going to join her in the birthing center to see how things are progressing. She was induced this morning (Cervidil to ripen the Cervix...). Please post your happy thoughts for her as we welcome Margaret Grace McLargehuge the world.

33. it depends on how she feels

a couple of decades of horseback riding has dulled her pretty good down there. She needed a spinal last time, so I am assuming she will this time. However, she's pretty determined not to lose her mobility while labor progresses and once they do a spinal she'll have to stay in bed.

47. Ask her OB if they have a "walking epidural" available...

There is supposedly a different version of the epidural that allows the woman to have some mobility while laboring. Here's a brief article on it.... http://anesthesiologyinfo.com/articles/cbe/blwalking.php

It may be a bit late for this advice, but it's worth asking if they have this method available should your wife feel the need for more intensive pain relief when closer to delivery...

Ain't she beautiful?

She's dilating (FINALLY) under the influence of Cervidil. I just had lunch with her and labor is progressing nicely. Still not worried that she is going to drop any minute, otherwise I wouldn't be here, so she's taking an afternoon nap.
