It's official: THE AVIATOR is an excellent film!
Edited on Sun Feb-06-05 11:41 PM by NightTrain
Just got back from seeing it. Any doubts I had about DiCaprio's acting ability are now gone. His performance as Howard Hughes is nothing short of brilliant! Suffice it to say, DiCaprio's Oscar nomination is well-deserved. (I do not, however, think he should have gotten a Lifetime Achievement Award at the bloody age of 30! Good Christ.)

My only problem with THE AVIATOR was the ending. The film didn't so much end as stop. Up until that point, however, THE AVIATOR is a compelling and fascinating portrait of a brilliant and tormented man. I recommend it highly!

that's for sure.

i just loved the lady who played hepburn in it... her name escapes me... i hope she'll win an oscar.

and i agree, great film.

as for the ending, that was kind of his life true to form, very anti-climactic -- he came in with a bang, went out with a bore.

2. I think it was Cate Blanchett who portrayed Hepburn.

Didn't look much like Hepburn, but Blanchett certainly nailed her speech patterns and mannerisms, didn't she?

11. Excellent? Well, pretty good, maybe
but Blanchett hit a home run!

Liked Sideways too.

Best Picture, White chicks! Funniest thing since The Pink Panther!
