Do you think it bothers Gerald Ford...
...that his wife is much more well-known than he ever was because of "the clinic"?

When I think of Gerald Ford, I think of him as Betty's husband...

1. I think of him as one of the lame judges on the Warren Commission..
The commission that actually gave appoval of the one bullet theory. It just showed me how they really didn't want the public to know the truth. I am from West Michigan and most people around here think of him somewhere on the right hand of god. I just look at him as someone that is part of the problem...not the solution.

3. I think of him as one of our smartest, most articulate Presidents.
Of course, only in comparison to what we have now.

4. I think of LBJ's observation
"He spent too much time playing football without a helmet."

Seriously, though, I don't think Gerald gets too upset letting his wife be the visible figure in fighting addiction. I don't believe that Gerald Ford has ever openly discussed his alcohol problems the way Betty Ford frankly acknowledged her issues. Even when he was falling down daily and the joke of the nation, I'm not aware that he ever sought help or tried to quit.

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

5. I think of the day he pardoned Nixon, and my Dad
said to me, "Son, the Democrats just won the White House back."
