Hello, guitar players check in!
I grew up in the 70's as a rocker. In the eighties, I found punk. In the late eighties and early 90's I preformed. In '95 I stopped playing in public. Lately, I've found classical. I've been playing classical on a folk guitar. I have good satifaction from this. Have you any advice to me? I know that this fourm may not be the best for advice for a musical instrument, but, I say, why not?

I myself am a big fan of electric blues, but also like folk rock on an acoustic. Have you tried playing classical on a classical guitar? The neck width is a little different, but not hard to get use to given some practice. I actually started on a classical and then switched to an acoustic and then to electric. However, I now play my electro-acoustic about as much as my electrics.

3. YOu will never be able to get the intonation of classical on a folk guitar
A reasonable classical guitar, i.e. under $500.00 is an Esteve. YOu need the extra space between the strings to get the clarity of notes required to play classical.

In the interim, however until you do buy a guitar, getting the action lowered on your folk guitar will make it a bit easier to play fingerstyle guitar. It only costs about $30 to get this done at a guitar shop that does repairs.

5. totally agree!
I played blues as a kid but am now studying Flamenco. Get thee to the guitar store brother. You will love the results of a real classical guitar. As for fixing your existing ax, as an old blues guy, I usually just file down the bridge to achieve faster action. Cost, a few minutes during string change.
