If I get bombarded by anymore Valentines Crap....
...I'm gonna go crazy, Broadway style.

Fuck Valentine's day. It's just a sad, harsh reminder to us single/divorced folks that we're alone, and the implied subtext is that we're alone because we've failed at something, and are abnormal.

1. I hear you.
It is the worst holiday ever. Worst. Holiday. Ever. I don't need that consummate reminder that women hate me and that like with everything else I have failed here.

2. I guess you don't want me to send that
great big heart-shaped card then. Sure, break my heart.

4. Just think of it as more MSM stupidity
It doesn't have to be "a reminder" of anything. Really, the rest of the world isn't all blissfully happy while you're by yourself. It's just another way for restaurants and flower shops and greeting card companies and chocolate stores to make money.

Valentines day is about love, not necessarily romance. Love your friends, family, whoever. Love your pets. Love the fact that your not stuck in some horrible relationship.

Or just ignore the whole thing.

6. Not my favorite day either

If it were low-key and not so friggin' commercialized, I wouldn't care. Advertisements on TV, radio, print-media make it so you just can't escape it. Ugh.

7. Another excuse for extortion from consumers feeling
obliged to buy someone something. Remember "Love Day" on the Simpsons? Perfect sendup of the creation of more and more holidays to keep the sheeple buying shit.
Be glad you don't have to have a horridly uncomfortable Valentine's Day married or living with someone you no longer love...it's much worse than being alone.
A great wise saying: Don't compare your insides with other people's outsides." You never know what's really going on with other people, you only have yourself to be concerned with. Acceptance is a lovely thing and usually required before your situation can change.
Sometimes it's a victory NOT to be in a relationship.

8. Yeah, I always get depressed on V-Day,
but this year I decided I wasn't going to do that. I'm buying myself flowers and chocolate, because I'm a girl, and I like flowers and chocolate. I'm declaring it I Love Me Day and I'm gonna do something fun that I like to do like go to a museum, and then I'm gonna have a nice bottle of wine and some nice takeout and I'm gonna watch some fun escapist DVD that has No Romance In It Whatsoever. I'm actually sort of looking forward to it. :)

So -- you're a guy, right? buy yourself a sixpack or whatever floats your boat and have fun!
