When parallel parking, is it ok to go in head first?
Or is it bullshit because it's like pulling a bank job?

1. You always back in
Pulling in headfirst leaves you with nowhere to go, and at the exact wrong angle.

2. You can't go in first and easily do a good job
you need rear-wheel steering to do it right, and you only have that if you are going backwards. :)

3. Back In... But Watch Out For Idiots
Those that stop right behind you when your turn signel is blinking, reverse lights are on and thus blocking you.

4. Never heard of going in head first.
NYC is the home of parallel parking.

6. My opinion (I live on a one way street in my city)...
Yes, you can go in head first if you are pulling in behind another car with no trailing cars; Just leave enough space to get out from the front. (If you do not, you should fervently hope that the person who parks behind you gives you room to move.)

If you're trying to park between two parked cars, you must go in from the front (i.e., back in). It's the only way to do it properly.

7. If there are several vehicle lengths clear . . .
. . . behind the target vehicle, so you can get straightened out, it's actually lots easier. However, you have to live in a town that has that many open parking spaces!

8. No..
Newman (to Kramer): You wanna know why you can't go in front first? I'll tell you why. because it signals a breakdown in the social order. Chaos. It reduces us to jungle law.

11. I always go in head first...
if there's room.

Or if the curb's low enough to slide over. Saves time and aggravaton and just seems sensible.

(Wanna really, really, piss someone off? Sneak into the spot while they're fooling around backing in.)

Go for it. Of course, someone will find some reason why it isn't p.c. but I say fuck em.

Since when do you have to ask people how to park? You aren't Asian are you?

It's a JOKE dick heads! Get over it!

13. have you been watching seinfeld?
IMO, the only reason to pull in is if you are trying to get there before somebody else who is backing in.

14. I would pull right in head first
in my VW Beatle (1974) days. Couldn't do that with my Lincoln.
