Whether it's a loved one, child, parent or friend, doesn't it just make you feel wonderful?

I'm 41 and just experiencing this for the first time. Cut me some slack, OK?

BTW, friends and family are also wondering what the hell happened to me. Maybe he drugs my tea or something, ;-)

3. The only time I can find it sickening...
is when you see a new couple saying it to each other in that stupid baby talk voice...but thats probably because I'm subconsciously jealous. Any other time it is great!

10. Sadly, I can't take credit for that.
It was either Kevin Smith or a Jason Mewes riff.

If you'd like, I'll refer to YOU as BooBooKittyFuck from now on. :D

14. That's very sad
Any friends or relatives? It doesn't need to be a SO. Also, when is the last time you said it to anyone. Is there anyone you love, not necessarily in a romantic way?

When your mom is gone, like mine is, you'll be thankful that she said it to you so many times. Treasure it.

23. It's a good thing.
I used to tell my mom I loved her. Her response was, "Yes, I like you too." or "I'm sometimes fond of you as well." Eventually, I gave up as it was a lost cause (this was when I was still a girl). You're fortunate to have the support of a loving family.

25. Not from my children.
They can say it all they want.

As far as the romantic stuff, it felt like a source of pressure the last few years of my marriage because I heard a lot of words that didn't result in positive treatment that went along with the feelings those words represent. I don't even want to go into a couple of things in my past because it's pretty meaningless now and I was so young. Suffice it to say, similar experiences. The only person who has since been in my life thus far merely alluded those words (i.e. "love between us", "powerful feelings"). I wasn't ready to go that far yet either I suppose until certain missing elements of a relationship could be filled in.

When it eventually is a part of my life again in a more complete sense of the experience, if the words go along with the actions, than it's a pretty darned wonderful thing. No, I wouldn't get sick of them at all. At this stage of my existence however, it hard not feel a bit bitter and hurt at all the apparent meaningless words that have been thrown my way by men in both my past and present. I have myself and that element of love and self-respect anyway. That isn't something I've always had.

Which, really explains alot.

In fact I doubt even that much. I could probably count ten times I've been told that in my life.

you might as well pack it in, frankly. I never get tired hearing it from my family...and Doug. And I never, ever will.
