13. I had a blue one of those
Drove the crap out of that car. Could move amazing amounts of crap in that little car too.

Had to get rid of it when the bolts holding the frame to the body literally rusted away.

I remember that ugly-ass Datsun orange color though. My brother-in-law had on that color.

I drove mine into the ground, too. It got me all the way through high school and college.

and I ran mine into the ground also. I had two other friends with the same car, plus two others with B210 and one with a 310 sport. We used to joke about the mating call of the Datsun: the "your key is still in the ignition, stupid " chime

Funny story. After this car, in 1977, she gave me her chevy nova ss, yes that souped up car, she had bought this car and said it had too much power and gave it to me so she could buy a chevette. This Nova was a monster for a young college girl.

Edited on Sat Feb-05-05 09:10 PM by MidwestMomma
That was in the late 70's during my college years.

Man I LOVED that car. Wasn't really cool or anything but I had some great times in that car and some of my favorite road trips.

One time I broke a lug bolt off the car because I didn't know the lug nuts on the driver side came off clockwise. Something about the bolts being self tightening...who knew?

The mechanics wanted to see the girl who broke off a lug bolt. It was funny. :)

With the 400 engine. I could hardly afford to put gas in it after I bought. I bought it used in 1984 and the minimum wage job I had paid $3.35 per hour. It took about 1 gallon of gas to get to and from work.
