Song help. A hippy rock tune popped into my head this morning while
I was thinking about my mother. Then tonight I put the radio on for the boys when they went to sleep, and there was that song again.

What is the song and who sings it? It's a classic and my frazzled brain can't come up with the info. The chorus had the words "Can't you see?...Can't you see? What that woman, Lord, is doing to me."

Thanks, gang!

1. Can't You See - Marshall Tucker Band

I'm gonna take a freight train,
Down at the station
I don't care where it goes
Gonna climb me a mountain,
The highest mountain, Lord,
Gonna jump off, nobody gonna know

Can't you see, can't you see,
What that woman, she been doin' to me
Can't you see, can't you see,
What that woman been doin' to me
I'm gonna find me a hole in the wall,
Gonna crawl inside and die
That lady, mean ol' woman Lord,
Done told me goodbye

Can't you see, can't you see,
What that woman she been doin' to me
Can't you see, can't you see,
What that woman been doin' to me
Gonna buy me a ticket now,
As far as I can, ain't never comin' back
Take me Southbound, all the way to Georgia now,
Till the train run out of track

Can't you see, can't you see,
What that woman, she been doin' to me
Can't you see, can't you see,
What that woman been doin' to me

God, I miss you...
the ocean always makes me think of you,
waking up on the beach,
spending hours and hours with you
doing nothing and everything...

4. Yep. That's it. Thanks! (of course, my mother was no mean ol' woman, but
I had the song in my head for her anyway. :) )

5. I wouldn't support Marshall Tucker Band anymore -- because ...
they are BIG Republicans supporters now, not 'HIP' in any way. In fact, when the Dixie Chicks had their first concert back in the US after the "ashamed Bush is from Texas" Clear Channel boycott, Marshall Tucker Band played free for Dixie Chicks' ticketholders to shun their concert. Of course, the Dixie Chicks played to a full house. But the Marshall Tucker Band is forever shit in my estimation.
