a long time ago when I was a supervisor in Austin on of my employees who lived on a farm brought a runt piglet to work to nurse with a bottle - she had him in a box and was trying to hide him from me but I happened upon the box and peered in; I thought it was a puppy until a couple of big pink ears popped outside the box. And that RINGLET TAIL - GAWD it was so freaking CUTE. :D

8. Pigs rock!
I worked at a pig farm one summer. Once they got so old, we had to move them from the farrowing house to the nursery, which was about 75 yards down a narrow hall to another building.

We'd remove the sows, block the passages we didn't want them going down, then open each farrowing crate and let 'em rip. We're talking HUNDREDS of piglets. Took all day to wrangle them.

The smallest ones would get trampled, so we had to pick them up. I wore coveralls with deep pockets on the chest and hips, and I'd fill my pockets and arms with piglets and carry them down the hall to the nursery by hand. I could get about a dozen in one trip. That was the highlight of my job.

Smart, terrific animals.
