that a much younger Lila Lipscomb (mother of soldier who died in Iraq in F/911) is in one of the earlier scenes about the GM plant closings in Flint.

It really freaked me out, that there is a kind of insidious seamlessness from corporate robber barony causing the destitution of this town, and now decades later to the vulture recruiters grabbing the prospectless kids from the "poor" shopping mall to be cannon fodder for the robber barons' war.

10. Because it is shit.
Creatively edited by Moore, and not ONE person in Flint has got a dime from Moore.

Moore is the left's version of Annthrax Coulter.
Liar, rabble-rouser and scum.

Whatever your beef is with Moore, and Progressives in general I imagine, have a lot more to do with you asinine comparison than reality.

Nice try though. It's really good to see people show their true colors. Red and Blue and the other Red.

Edited on Tue Feb-01-05 09:51 PM by mzmolly
http://www.registerguard.com/news/2004/10/19/d1.cr.slackertour.1019.html

Moore feigned the sexual ecstasy that he said Nader supporters feel when voting for their "pure" candidate in the privacy of the voting booth. Then came his punchline:

"Didn't your parents tell you when you were 14 years old that five minutes of feeling good has lifelong implications?"

The hecklers were asked to leave and did so, with no citations issued or arrests made, said Eugene police spokeswoman Kerry Delf.

Moore said Kerry may not be perfect, but ... "There's a reason that they're saying Kerry is the No. 1 liberal in the Senate," said Moore. "It's because he is the No. 1 liberal in the Senate."

He also sent email to his supporters urging votes for Kerry.

"One Day Left" by Michael Moore

Dear Friends,

This is it. ONE DAY LEFT. There are many things I’d like to say. I’ve been on the road getting out the vote for 51 straight days so I haven’t had much time to write. So I’ve put together a bunch of notes to various groups all in this one letter. Please feel free to copy and send whatever portions are appropriate to your friends and family as you spend these last 24 hours trying to convince whomever you can to show up and vote for John Kerry.

Here are my final words…

With One Month Left, 5 Easy Things to Do From Michael Moore

Dear Friends,

This is it: One month to D-Day! That's "Dump Bush Day," November 2nd.

It's now time to roll up our sleeves -- each and every one of us -- and get to work. There will be nearly 10 million of you who will read this letter either on my list or on my site. An army of ten million cannot be defeated! The time for hitting the snooze button has passed, voter registration deadlines start Monday and we only get one shot at this!!!

My plan is simple. Will you join me in the following?

(snip)

2. CALL AND VOLUNTEER NOW. There is nothing more important in the next 31 days than spending whatever free time you have working to remove George W. Bush from the White House. Again, call the local Democratic Party HQ or the local Kerry HQ or the ACT office and say you want to help. They will put you to work making calls, going door to door, putting up yard signs, lining up rides on Election Day for senior citizens, etc. Removing Bush and electing Kerry will require physical labor on all our parts. We just can't sit home and wish it to happen. (A Warning: Some local Dem HQs are not always as organized as you would hope them to be. If you call and they don't have it together, don't get discouraged. Just move on to my next point, #3...)

3. START YOUR OWN KERRY CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTERS! If the Dems don't have it together in your area, don't complain, just take matters into your own hands and run your own campaign for Kerry. Or, even if there is a strong Kerry presence in your county seat, there still may not be in the outlying areas where you live. There's nothing wrong with you and your friends saying, "OK, today we inaugurate the Kerry HQ here in Hooterville...or Kurt Cobain High...or Dorm Building 5!" If you can't get signs or leaflets, make your own! Don't wait for someone to do it, otherwise it won't get done. Send me pictures of your own renegade Elect Kerry/Dump Bush HQ and I will put them up on my site!

34. Unlike Moore...
I admit mistakes, I don't threaten to sue.

"Any attempts to libel me will be met by force,'" Fahrenheit 9/11 director Michael Moore told the New York Times on Sunday (June 20, 2004). "The most important thing we have is truth on our side. If they persist in telling lies, knowingly telling a lie with malice, then I'll take them to court."

The Times also reported that Moore "has consulted with lawyers who can bring defamation suits against anyone who maligns the film or damages his reputation," and that he's established a "war room" to monitor attacks on the film.

22. Moore made a HUGE amount of money from the film.
Edited on Tue Feb-01-05 09:42 PM by Archae
The fact is not ONE person has got a dime from Moore, in Flint.

I'm getting the same reaction here, that I got from a die-hard Ann Coulter fan.
"You're picking on the person I admire! Wahhhh!!!"

Moore lied in "Roger and Me," "Bowling For Columbine," etc.

Moore HAS the talent to be a good author and film-maker.
Why he has to lie, and praise the jihadist insurgents in Iraq, is beyond me.

"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win."

Edited on Tue Feb-01-05 09:57 PM by mzmolly
Remember, some were accused of "praising" Native Americans during the White man's slaughter in America not so long ago?

These men are fighting an "occupation" in a war that should not have been.

Also, whether or not Moore lied is subjective as you know.

32. Your also wrong about no one in Flint getting money from Moore.
If you read the article you posted earlier, you'd know that.

...Now everyone wanted to buy it. Moore, feeling his power, began to make unusual demands: he wanted twenty-five thousand free tickets to be given to unemployed autoworkers; he wanted twenty-five thousand dollars to be donated to the five families who were shown getting evicted in the film; he insisted that the movie not be shown in any country that he felt practiced segregation, such as South Africa or Israel; he wanted one seat kept empty for Roger Smith at every showing. But studios kept bidding and the price kept getting higher. Finally, he sold it to Warner Bros. for three million dollars—an unprecedented sum for a documentary.

9. You need to see the followup, "Pets or Meat"
MM did a short followup to "Roger and Me" which focused, in part, on The Bunny Lady.

Let's just say that you'll never watch the original Dr. Doolittle with the same frame of mind as before.
