Crop Circles, man made? Or.........
Did anyone catch national geographic special on crop circles last night?

They showed proof that they could be man-made, but they also provided a video of a strange "orb" that made one in minutes.

Discuss.

4. I think some are man made.
But on some documentaries I've seen some that look so complex and so perfect, it's hard to believe a couple rednecks with a stick and too much spare time made them.

11. Actually,,,many of them
are artists and architects. To create a crop circle it's pretty mathematical.

10. Maybe we're looking in the wrong direction
It seems obvious that the circles are made from something above them that causes the crop to lay down. But what if it were some pull from underneath the ground? Or what if the crops themselves were mutated somehow to drop down on a certain pre-arranged time?

Ok, I'm just having some fun here...don't put me in the WaPo next to the "tsunami caused by underwater nuclear testing" posts!

17. Mystery solved...
It's these people, and other artists like them who make crop circles.

There are amateurs out there, but these are the pros.

www.circlemakers.org

The way they get the designs down is pretty cool, and all they yse mostly are pre-measured lengths of rope, and of course their stalk-stomper thing.

Heyo

21. I don't know about that
They showed ( on the NG program) the circle makers making one that was very precise. They used surveying materials, it looked pretty darn exact to me. But then again....
