Just got a DVD burner...now what?
A Plextor PX-716A 16X

I am a stickler for not immeadiatly loading up the supplied software that comes with hardware because 9 times outta 10 it is lodaded with crap, sometimes adware, and it's slow.

Here is what it comes with:

Roxio Easy Media Creator 7
Roxio DVD Max Player 2.0
PlexTools Pro

Any suggestions? Should I load them?
Is there sleeker, faster, better software out there?

I've had mine for months (came with the computer) and haven't done anything with it.

3. Think twice about roxio
It came with my burner and burned plenty of duds. The dvd's wouldn't play in a couple of my home dvd players (something about how it writes the menu). I uninstalled it (major hassle, it writes itself all over the registry) and moved to nero. I'm much happier and my success rate with burning good discs is at 100%. Everything plays in my dvd players, too. YMMV
