29. GD is the DU equivalent of cable punditry shows.
Too much screaming, not enough substantial debate.

"What? You have a Clark avatar? But I'm a Dean supporter! I won't agree with you on anything!"

"You have a Dean avatar? But I'm a Frost supporter! You, sir, obviously must rape babies!"

33. Oh, I know.
I'm pretty damn liberal, but not the extremist level that some of these people operate on. There's also the extremly PC bunch (remember those novel-sized debates over the use of a certain word that rhymes with 'witch?') that will lynch you over the most innocent of remarks. There's zero sense of humor with some of these people.

What's really pissing me off at the moment... the bitter feelings still residing in some people from the primaries. The election has long since ended, and there's no real reason for "Deaniacs", "Clarkies," and, uh... "Sharpies" to be feuding.

39. that may be the case now
but during the election they were engaged in absolutely mindless cheerleading for Kerry, to the point where they would shout down anyone who dared to even hint that it was possible for Kerry and Edwards to lose the election.

That, more than anything else, is what drove me out of there.

I like the idea of faith based intiatives, I am pro choice, and my real beef with school vouchers is that they from what I know violate church and state but I think they and faith based intiatives are good intentioned.

i'm biased towards vouchers because i spent 13 years in catholic schools and loved it. I think public schools are great and absolutely essential, but i'm defintely choosing a private school for my kids. and i think people should have every opportunity to go to private school as i had.
