Today's Chicago Cubs thread, Saturday 10/4
This is it! The Cubbies clinch today, and will according to my inside sources and uncanny prediction skills, play the Florida Marlins for the NLCS. :-)

1. still think it'll be Cubs/Giants
but either way, Cubs are going to the WS

and that's where there luck might run out against the mighty Twinkies.

2. Twins up against Clemens today!
They have a tougher fight than the Cubs, so I wish them good luck! I can't see as far as the World Series yet, but the Yankees and A's will be tough, tough teams to beat.

All I can say to your prediction is... we'll see! ;-)

7. Keep us posted
I promised the Professor that I wouldn't watch any more games. I'm a jinx, you see, and everytime I watch a game the Cubs lose. I made the mistake of turning on the game earlier this week and you saw what happened. :-(

8. Second inning.
No score, each has one hit. Sorry to hear that about you, Susang, so thanks for taking the Professor's words of wisdom.

9. I think it has something to do with my Detroit roots
I'm lucky when I watch Detroit teams (they always seem to win then) but unlucky with Chicago teams. This is unfair, since I love the Cubs and they don't compete with the Tiger (nobody does these days, I'm afraid), so there's no reason I can't be a Cubs fan. But the cosmos seems to feel differently.

On the other hand, Michael say the same thing happens to him when he watches the Cubs. Since we're usually together, maybe it's really his curse and not mine. I'll work on finding that out next year. This year is too important to play games with! :-)

10. Gary Sheffield is out with a hand injury???
Is it so bad that he won't even be available to pinch hit or run (he's wicked fast) if needed?

Interesting... bodes well for Cubbie fans.

:-)

11. Nope
GOO AMERICAN LEAGUE! My yankees are going to win game 4. And even if they don't, they'll win game 5 back home. Then the A's will put the Red Sox away tonight probably, and the Yankees will beat the red sox to get the AL pennant. I hope the Cubbies win the NL Pennant so the Yankees can win the World Series again! GOOO CLEMENS! :)

The Sox will lose tonight. The A's will put them away 3-0, and it will be great. :P And even if they don't, and the Sox manage to get 2 wins at home, it goes back to Oakland for game 5, and then it's ass kicking time. ;-)

Don't you crave a BoSox/Yankees ALCS? Admit it... you want it.

I know I want it... even if the Yankees will prove the validity of Babe's Curse yet again.

GOD, do I love baseball... the tang of the crisp fall air, playoffs on the tube... life is good!!!

I have for 3 or 4 years now, because of ALL the reasons you listed. I do crave a BoSox/Yankees ALCS, I must admit, but I would also like to see an A's/Yankees series. :)

Eric Karros, the former LA Dogders HomeRun King, cracked one helluva homer off the talented Atlanta pitcher, Russ Ortiz, in the 6th.

It's a game, ya know...

They've been sitting on their hands most of the series, and it really cost the Cubs today.
