Would you respond to this personal ad?
Depressed in Denver

Gender: Woman seeking a Man
Drinking: Drinks regularly
Living Situation: I'll tell you later
Occupation: Artistic / Musical / Writer
Political Views: Liberal

I am a brilliant, introverted, disturbed, poetic, loner. And very passionate and mysterious.

And the person looking for me has removed his ad and now I have just wasted 20 dollars trying to reply.

Maybe it was someone else looking for me?
You would probably think I am beautiful although I would not agree.

I hate sunshine too, but love rainy days.

Intelligent, introverted, intriguing and able to tolerate my moods. A musician or artist would be ideal. Someone in a counseling profession might work too.

---

I like a challenge, but I don't know about this challege.

7. No, I probably wouldn't.
Assuming I were a man looking for a woman who is looking for a man.

I don't think I'd respond to an ad in which the person described herself as disturbed, and who suggested that someone in a counseling profession might be good for her.

10. Well
"Occupation: Artistic / Musical / Writer " usually means unemployed..lol

She sounds interesting I guess, but she also sounds like someone who is carrying a lot of baggage of some sort. If you would want a challenge then go for it, if you want to go to the beach...forget it.

We're sort of similar in personality, although I'm apparently not quite as whacked out of my gourd as she is. I'm also almost completely baggage free! (Hello single DU ladies) ;)

...that's she's going to be trouble. I'd take her word for it and steer clear. And what's with that "Living situation: I'll tell you later" bit. That sounds like a nasty little surprise just waiting to spring itself on you--probably an ex still hanging around. Also, I'll bet there's some drug abuse in this picture.

Oh, I'm sure it's happened to quite a few other fellas before she placed this ad. She sounds as though she may very well place an ad like this once every 3-6 months. She also sounds as though she wears lots of black and thinks there's romanticism in being nihilistic and self-destructive. Annoying.

I usually find out that the women I date have issues about a month or two into the relationship. Pass on this one. She's done you a favor by weeding herself out.

24. No, no I wouldn't.
Depressed made me cringe. Drinks regularly....well, I'm the daughter of an alcoholic and I'm not a teetotaler, but I am wary of drinking "regularly."

Disturbed....well that disturbed me.

Living Situation: I'll tell you later...disturbed me, too.

The last sentence? Made me laugh but that banged the last nail in that coffin. I don't want to be a counselor to anyone.

31. she sounds like a real pill
I suspect that a "brilliant" person would be far too conscious of the gaps in her talent to think of herself as brilliant.

This one sounds as though she were making a huge effort to cultivate the persona that comes across in her ad. Which is a shame, since this carefully-cultivated persona is kind of annoying.

Of course, she might be better in person...
