Interesting acting performances you've seen.
Not necessarily bad...just a "huh" kind of reaction.

My choice: Anthony Hopkins as Richard Nixon (yes, really) in Oliver Stone's "Nixon". Probably the last choice I would make to play Nixon. But you know...the performance wasn't that bad. Hopkins did a good job getting into Nixon's psyche in the film.

3. Alec Guinness as Hitler
Never pictured him playing Hitler, but he gave probably the best on screen portrayal of him in "Hitler: The Last Ten Days."

4. Tom Cruise as Lestat-that was the one role i liked him in
i've read all of her books and i was pissed when they cast him but i thought he was pretty good and i am not a Cruise fan at all.

7. I'm not a Cruise fan, either, but
I thought he was well cast to play the arrogant, self-centered Lestat, as he does that type all the time.

8. Another Stone movie
Whatever character Joe Pecsi was playing in the movie JFK.

Gary Oldham in Sid & Nancy.

Rodney Dangerfield as the deranged father in "Natural Born Killers"

Tim McGraw the dumb ass country singer as the drunken football hero in "Friday Night Lights"

Andre the Giant in "The Princess Bride"

And my favorite of all time...

Tenor Saxophonist Dexter Gordon as Bud Powell in "Round Midnight"

NOBODY saw that coming.

9. Jim Carey in that "Lemony Snicket" movie
I was definitely kind of like, "huh" as I didn't expect him to underact so much, I guess.

10. Helena Bonham Carter in Fight Club, Keanu Reeves in The Gift
From classical English Victorian to grubby American goth chick was a surprise. Great performance, of course.

Keanu playing a crude redneck was the opposite of what he's always tried for.

Throw in Wesley Snipes in To Wong Fu.

11. Keanu in "Little Buddha"
That'll make you scratch your head...

Also,

Clairese Theron in "Monster"

Paul Giamatti in "Sideways" or "American Spleandor"

Everything about "Twin Peaks" makes me go, huh?

and everyone in "Carnivale" on HBO. Rod Serling would be proud.
