3. I second that on Jim Carrey
What is it about the Hollywood establishment that will not accept him as a dramatic actor?

Not to fault the other guys, because this year was a dynamic year for male performances, but I really think Jim Carrey's performance was at good as these others.

6. Agreed,
That was my first thought when I read the list, "where is Jimmy Carrey".

This was a great year for male performances, so somebody was going to get snubbed.... and I figured it would be Jimmy Carrey... but I was hoping that maybe I be wrong.

2. Don Cheadle...
...is one of my favorite actors! I'm so glad to see him get some recognition, even though he probably doesn't stand a snowball's chance in Hell of winning!

We haven't seen "Hotel Rwanda" yet. Here in Central Maine we'll probably have to wait for the DVD.

With all of the black nominees, I wonder if limpballs will say it's the liberal media that wants to have them succeed?

5. Once again, a puzzle. How can a film be nominated for Best Picture...
but the director of the same film NOT get nominated as Best Director? I'm referring in this year's case to Finding Neverland, nominated as Best Picture, but not Best Director. The director of "Vera Drake" was nominated, but the film wasn't.

This seems to happen every year. It's sort of perplexing.
