Conversations with my wife...
Lately a lot of them go something like this:

Me: "What's for supper?"
"I think we'll have chicken salad sandwiches."
(We used the last of the bread for toast this morning.)
"Sounds good. Did you pick up some bread?"
"No."
"Then how are we going to have sandwiches?"
"What do you mean?"
"If we don't have any bread, how are we going to have sandwiches?"
"I got a loaf of bread while I was out."
"I just asked you if you got some bread and you said no."
"When?"
"Just now. I said 'Did you pick up some bread', and you said 'No.'"
"Oh, I didn't hear you."
"Then why did you say 'No'? Why didn't you ask me to repeat the question?"
"Look, I GOT bread, so we'll have sandwiches, OK?"
"OK, OK. Great. Terrific."

I think one of us is losing it.

5. I have conversations like that with
my husband all the time. He says something that is directly opposite of something else he just said. It makes me crazy.

I guess it's not a gender thing, but an individual thing. She may also have heard your question "Did you pick up some bread?" as something completely different, and that's why she said no to it.

Sigh. I hate these kinds of exchanges, because you can both end up quite irritated at each other when you shouldn't.

6. I seriously think she has a hearing problem.
Recent example:

"Are you going to town?"
"Did I get a new gown? No. I don't need a new gown. Why should I get a new gown?"
"I said ARE YOU GOING TO TOWN?"
"Oh."

We're both getting old.
;-)

7. Oh, I know that one too.
We all get there eventually.
