The storm blew open a door to the basement. Froze the pipes. It's all fixed now. My bank account is reallllly fixed.

she's sleeping it off right now. I had to leave her to run some errands, and then when we were on our walk, she smashed her face into something extremely stinky, so she had to have a bath, which she truly hates. She is now a sleeping little mound under a dry towel on the sofa next to me.

Poor baby. :(

I thought I would have a few strong drinks when I got home, but I didn't.

I was in a parent/teacher conference today and a woman said that she didn't want her daughter hanging around a couple of other girls. (They are now "out of the closet" which is a big thing for jr. high/high school age kids in small town Alabama.) She said she told her daughter she wasn't allowed to hang out with them any more because "If you lay with a dog with fleas, you are going to get fleas." The dumb ass woman thinks she can catch being gay.

She also said, "Where are these girl's parents? Gawd!"

Yeah, shitty day!

12. So you teach too?

I had some gossipy girls complain inflatedly to the principal about me. They didn't understand the assignment yet when I tried to explain it to them, they kept chatting. So, I stopped explaining. The complaint was that I was frustrated by their talking so I wouldn't teach them. Well, duh-fucking-duh.

The office TA wouldn't leave my classroom after delivering a message but instead stayed and disrupted the lesson. I tried to write him up and he refused to sign the detention form. So, it escalated. He said, "I don't know who you are, lady, but you don't give me detention."

I'm meeting with the principal in the morning to talk this over. No wonder people won't do our jobs!

I love teaching, but on days like today I just wonder if there is any hope in educating some of these people.

10. Yep.. a few highlights.

Woke up before the alarm because I was having a nightmare wherein some psycho killed 2 of my kids... later at work, I found out that the Government is keeping my tax return, even though I've been making payments on my student loans, then I looked at the calendar and realized that payday is actually next tuesday, and not next monday like I thought, so I have to stretch the cash we have yet another day...
